Pokédex V2 Now Live in Pokémon GO!

Pokémon GO just released a brand new design for the in-game Pokédex, featuring eye-catching visuals of the regional starters.
This update brings with it two new Pokédex types: XXL and XXS. Some Pokédex types were also removed, however. 3-Star, Shiny 3-Star, and the Event Pokédexes are no longer available.
User Interface Updates
Tapping on the Pokédex menu now brings up a vertical list of regional Pokédexes. Each region features the three starters and your total number caught.
To change the type of Pokédex, trainers can swipe near the bottom of their screen.
Tapping into one of the regions will let users scroll through all of their Pokémon. At the top of the screen is a new header with a region-based summary of your Pokédex entries. This summary is only shown if the "Pokémon" Pokédex category is selected. If one of the other categories is selected, such as "Lucky," the new header will show your three most recently caught Pokémon in that category.

Pokédex Entry Updates
Tapping on a Pokémon to view its Pokédex entry will now show all of your Pokédex entries for each category. This will include Mega and Gigantamax entries where applicable.
Scrolling further down, a section for costumes is also listed. Below costumes is a button to see all Pokémon of the selected species, which takes you to your Pokémon storage with the Pokémon's name pre-filled in the search box.
