Shiny Meloetta in Pokémon HOME

A Glittering Note Chimes
In October 2024, Pokémon HOME introduced a new series of rewards for a completed Pokédex in Pokémon games available on the Nintendo Switch.
For the first time in Pokémon history, a shiny version of the Psychic and Normal-Type Mythical Melody Pokémon Meloetta is available as a mystery gift. This
Meloetta comes with its signature move,
Relic Song, which changes
Meloetta to its
Pirouette Form when used during battle. As a result, Pokémon HOME will automatically register both of
Meloetta’s forms in their new shiny versions!
Requirements for Unlocking Mystery Gifts for Pokédex Completion
To receive mystery gifts in general, you need to have the Pokémon HOME mobile app installed and your HOME account linked to a Nintendo Profile.
To unlock the current mystery gift, you must complete all Game Pokédexes for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (SV). This includes the Pokédexes for Paldea, Kitakami, and the Blueberry Academy. A Game Pokédex only registers Pokémon from that specific game.
Get shiny Meloetta!
The Paldea Pokédex has 400 entries, while the DLC regions add even more: Kitakami’s Pokédex contains 200 additional entries, and the Blueberry Academy adds 240 more.
However, if a Pokémon appears in both the main Pokédex and a DLC Pokédex, it only needs to be registered once to unlock both entries. Additionally, you don’t need to register the Mythical Pokémon Pecharunt, or the Legendary Paradox Pokémon
Walking Wake and
Iron Leaves, as these were only available during special Tera Raid events.
In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as with most other games in the series, there are version-exclusive Pokémon. For non-legendary Pokémon, you can breed a Pokémon from a different origin with a Ditto at the daycare to get a hatchling that has the same species but originates from Scarlet or Violet. However, this method doesn’t work for legendary Pokémon.
To complete your Pokédex, you can use the Global Trade System (GTS) to trade for missing Pokémon. While it’s possible to obtain a second specimen of the box-art legendary Koraidon or
Miraidon to trade for their counterpart, acquiring version-exclusive Paradox legendaries like
Gouging Fire or
Iron Boulder (available only in the DLC) may be more challenging.
