Revives are Medicine items in Pokémon GO that will restore a fainted Pokémon to half (50%) of its maximum hit points (HP). Max Revives, while a rarer item, will restore a Pokémon to full HP.

How to Get Revives

The best ways to obtain Revives in Pokémon GO are by spinning PokéStops and Gyms or opening Gifts.

Completing raids often rewards multiple Revives, but raids require a Premium Battle Pass and often require multiple trainers to take down. Revives are also given out as a reward for completing Field Research Tasks, defeating a Team GO Rocket Leader, or as a gift from a buddy Pokémon, but these methods are not as efficient.

Note: Revives are only obtainable once the player has reached level 5.

Complete list of methods Pokémon GO trainers can use to obtain revives:

  • Spinning PokéStops or Gyms
  • Completing specific Field Research or Special Research tasks
  • Winning a Raid Battle or Max Battle
  • Opening a Gift
  • Defeating a Team GO Rocket Leader
  • Receiving a gift from a Buddy Pokémon (Great level or higher)
  • Leveling up (level 5 - 29)

How to Use Revives

To use a Revive in Pokémon GO, tap the Poké Ball menu and "Items" to open your inventory. Next, tap the Revive item, and a list of your fainted Pokémon will appear. Tap an individual Pokémon to revive, or select "Revive All" to revive your fainted Pokémon, consuming as many Revives as needed.
